Day #185 - Project 365
I initially was planning on heading to East Grand Forks for a specific shot, but noticed the St. Michaels church near downtown Grand Forks. I have wanted to try shooting the church before, but never had made it there. So, I took a detour and it paid dividends. I had a couple of B&W shots that turned out really well, but went with the bracketed shots to go the HDR route.
After running the HDR with Photomatix Pro, I imported the image into CS4 to enhance the tonal range and contrast. After that, I applied a High Pass Filter with Linear Light blending, set to 45% opacity. I also cloned out a few tree branches that sneaked into the composition in the upper-right hand corner. The other branches looked okay, but these really stood out and, frankly, caused issues for placing the watermark.
